Peter Denmark was a contemporary modern painter best known for his minimal compositions of candy stripes and shapes of pure vibrant colours which play on our senses and draw us into a space of uplifting pleasure. 

Whilst Inspired by pop art and Lichtenstein, Denmark is more selective in his pursuit for non representation and like Rothko he allows the colour to breathe from the canvas. His paintings belie illusion they are simultaneously flat yet deep, hard and soft giving each one it’s own totality and everlasting endurance.
